Black Majik Orlando exists to celebrate Black storytellers, Black imagination, and Black speculative fiction.
While authors may use a variety of tools throughout the publishing process, including editing, formatting, marketing, or cover design tools, the stories themselves should be the product of human creativity. Our focus is on original storytelling, original ideas, and the unique voices that Black authors bring to the genre.
Readers attend author events to meet the people behind the stories, connect with creators, and engage with the experiences, perspectives, and imaginations that shaped those works. Because of that, Black Majik Orlando is intended to showcase books written by authors rather than books generated by artificial intelligence.
Our goal is not to police every author's workflow. Rather, it is to ensure that the event remains centered on authentic Black storytelling and the creative voices that make our speculative fiction community unique.
